I love this shot of La Grave, with it's icon peak, La Meije on the left. It was the last major summit in the French Alps to be climbed, finally conquered in 1877 by Emmanuel Boileau de Castelnau and Pierre Gaspard, decades after Mont Blanc and the Matterhorn, mainly because of the severity of the route.

This photograph was taken from Auris in Alpe d’Huez, looking across an incredible alpine landscape. I love the sheer scale of the mountains in this view and the way La Meije dominates the scene. It is one of those views that really makes you stop and take it all in. An incredible landscape and an amazing view.

Available as a premium unframed fine art photograph. Each artwork is printed on Hahnemühle Fine Art Pearl, 285 gsm, chosen for its rich tonal range, subtle texture and ability to reveal the depth and detail within the original image.
